In late 2022 BMW IT TechOffice Munich initiated the world’s largest industrial AI object detection challenge of the year, the SORDI Hackathon. Registered teams were given real AI-based Industrial Computer Vision challenges to tackle, such as those encountered by BMW Group staff in their daily work.

The Academy was tasked with creating a short animation used for promoting the event externally, with the overall aim to generate interest in the event. A range of BMW iFACTORY assets were shown to give viewers and indication of what they’d be using in the hackathon.
