SCANBOT GRAPHICS + RENDERS
ABOUT
To support idealworks as they expand their robotics ecosystem portfolio, we helped the company with the branding application of their new 3D scanning robot, ScanBot, in addition to a collection of renders to be used for presentations and communication purposes. The ScanBot is reliably creating digital twins for idealworks' intralogistics simulations.
Constraints for this project included the dolly being white due to docking and object recognition, plus the desire for restrained branding application across the robot. We worked through several concepts for the branding, selecting a few variations to present to the idealworks team. The final design uses idealworks’ signature purple colour and linework to highlight key inputs on the robot and add visual interest.
For the renders, we remodeled the entire exterior of the ScanBot and dolly working off supplied engineering CAD, plus the NavVis VLX scanner using online reference material. We then used a large collection of real-life ScanBot images to create and apply realistic materials, surface finishes and the branding in 3D. A warehouse/factory environment was created and used some of our iFACTORY assets to present the robot.
