Accelerating my Experience

Working with BMW has been an exciting, fun and challenging experience. It has accelerated my growth and maturity in becoming a better and more complete designer. This is because tasks assigned to me are not always directly related to the traditional scope of Industrial Design. I am still able to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during my tertiary studies in my daily work and am encouraged to use “out of the box” thinking to see how good design principles can impact positively on other aspects of BMW’s business.

I have had the opportunity to learn about state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence technology and CAD workflows inside a unique and constantly evolving 3D production pipeline. This includes acquiring and improving on techniques and skills within 3D-polymodelling, substance painter and Unreal Engine 4. I am thankful for the opportunity to work within a team of extremely capable and passionate designers, engineers and computer scientists. Their mentoring and guidance have been very helpful. This experience has allowed me to gain insight into the ethos and heartbeat of a company that is globally recognised for its commitment to quality and performance.
Despite recent circumstances I have also had the privilege to travel and see some of the beautiful cities and areas around Europe. It is something I have always wanted to do and I am thankful to have the time to sight-see and meet new people in the midst of a busy and virus-restricted schedule.
